Our Project ComICT Centre , emerged one of the few winners in the prestigious, international, and highly competitive Global Junior Challenge on November 19, 2004 in Rome. Tinshu Genesis Gemuh, President of Helps International (HINT) Cameroon who also doubles as project director received the prizes from the hands of Mr. Walter Veltroni, Mayor of Rome on Friday November 19, 2004 at the Julio Cesare Hall of the Campidoglio in Rome. The prizes included a certificate of recognition, a beautiful metallic award with our project name inscribed on it in addition to a €5,000 cash prize under the Small Grants scheme.

The Global Junior challenge is a global award promoted by the Digital Youth Consortium, a non-profit organization founded by the municipality of Rome and six other ICT companies. The intention of the award dedicated to young people and to schools, is to identify and reward best practices on the use of new technologies in education and the training of youngsters. An international jury selects finalist and winners are announced during the award ceremony that takes place in Rome at the Campidoglio city hall.

There are photos available of the ceremony in Rome. You can also read more about the Global Junior Chalene on their website.
