Click and help send an Africa Child to school this Spetember

September 20, 2008 by Genesis Leave a Comment

As you may already know, each September, we help send dozens of underprivileged children to school by providing textbooks, uniform, and fees.

Last year, we were able to assist 41 children with textbooks, uniform, and fees. Without that, many of them would not be able to go to school.

Back Packs 2008 is around the corner and we are appealing for support again. We are able to support these children through the generous support of people like you who care. On Saturday September 27, 2008 HINT will be providing school supplies to close to 50 children. With additional support, we may be able to help about 80.

We now appeal to you to do something and help provide for a child’s basic school needs. Any donation will go a long way.

You can securely donate online, through PayPal.

To donate by check, please make checks to:

  • Hope Outreach International Ministries (Please put HINT in the Memo)
  • 10993 N Harrells Ferry Road
  • Baton Rouge, LA 70816-8304
  • Phone: (225) 272-5432
  • Fax: (225) 272-6805
  • Email: hopeoutreach@gmail.com

We would like to thank our UK partners who have already made donations to help including among others:

  • Micheal & Margaret Astbury, England
  • Joseph and Heather Talbot, England
  • Ted & Glenys Talbot, England

We look forward to seeing your support and thank you in advance for it.

Sincerely, Genesis Tinshu Founder & Executive Director Helps International (HINT)

Back from South Africa

July 2, 2008 by Genesis Leave a Comment

Greetings again from Cameroon. Trust that you and your family are are doing fine.

We returned from South Africa about 2 weeks ago and are still settling down tot life again. South Africa was a wonderful experience with God as we opened up and allowed Him to speak to us.

We are already making plans for an outreach here in Buea next month. We keep you informed about this.

Meanwhile, we are also putting things together for this year’s Food For Funds (FFF) event. Brian and Christe will be hosting their second event. We would like to encourage you to be a host in this year’s event. To participate, please visit www.fff.hintonline.org and register online.

To see how your involvement is helping to change lives, please visit this link: http://www.fff.hintonline.org/07testimonies.htm. The success of the program lies in our model: serving mostly women only in groups.

We processed and mailed your receipt for last year’s donation but the mail seems to have been missing. We are working with Brian to ensure you receive a receipt for your gift of last year.

Thank you again for standing with us to change lives in real ways.

Regards,
Genesis Tinshu
Executive Director

December 7, 2007 by Genesis Leave a Comment

In February 2008, Rachelle Lynn Clune and Elizabeth Rhea Embry, both nurses in the United States of America (USA), will visit Helps International (HINT), an NGO located in Buea, South West Province of Cameroon in Sub-Sahara Africa.

During their time here, they will take part in a medical outreach program planned to take place in 2 rural communities: Ekona and Tole.

The outreaches are intended to:

  • Sensitize these communities on the HIV/AIDS pandemic
  • Train HIV Educators in these communities
  • Educate the public (esp. youths) on sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
  • Train community members on various aspects of basic hygiene.
  • Offer free consultations and free medication.

Rachelle & Beth need US$ 3,425.97 (excluding their flights to Cameroon and back) to be able to reach these rural villages with this life-saving information, training and resources.
