HINT distributes 2nd round of loans to successful women entrepreneurs

We are happy to have ended the last sequence of the loans that were collected from HINT during which we serve close to 30 women. We are happy for all the efforts put in towards these loans and wish to congratulate you all for every contribution you made. We have now started the second round of loans. As for now 10 women from two credit groups have received the loans to the tune of 900,000 FCFA.

5 women from the Dominion Sisters Credit group received 450,000 FCFA on the 29th August 2008, while 5 from the Zion Women Credit Group received 450,000 FCFA on the 12th September 2008. After showing their gratitude and how much the last loans helped in increasing their business and family status, the second loans gradually gets them to qualify for the interest free loans from HINT.

Back Packs 2008 support over 30 underprivileged children

Back Packs 2008 took place on 28th September 2008 in Buea. This program reached out to about 30 kids from mostly the primary school while the Joseph and Heather Talbot Prize was awarded to Mr. Akembom Pascal, HINT’s Administrative Assistant and Manager of our Bonduma IT Centre for his selfless service to the people of Buea through HINT. This annual prize is given in memory of Joseph & Heather Talbot who volunteered selflessly at HINT for 12 months during 2006/2007

Without this support, many of these children will not be able to go to school and most of them will perform poorly in school.

After going through all the application forms four (5) qualified children were given full support for one year, while the rest received partial support depending on the needs they had put forth in their request. Unfortunately, we could not be of help to all the needy children identified due to our limited financial resources.

However, we wish to thank all who donated for Back Packs 2008 and hope that you will continue to support this program in the coming years. We raised just a little over FCFA 300,000 and spent a lot more than that. Thank you tot all our donors.

Click and help send an Africa Child to school this Spetember

As you may already know, each September, we help send dozens of underprivileged children to school by providing textbooks, uniform, and fees.

Last year, we were able to assist 41 children with textbooks, uniform, and fees. Without that, many of them would not be able to go to school.

Back Packs 2008 is around the corner and we are appealing for support again. We are able to support these children through the generous support of people like you who care. On Saturday September 27, 2008 HINT will be providing school supplies to close to 50 children. With additional support, we may be able to help about 80.

We now appeal to you to do something and help provide for a child’s basic school needs. Any donation will go a long way.

Back from South Africa

Greetings again from Cameroon. Trust that you and your family are are doing fine.

We returned from South Africa about 2 weeks ago and are still settling down tot life again. South Africa was a wonderful experience with God as we opened up and allowed Him to speak to us.

We are already making plans for an outreach here in Buea next month. We keep you informed about this.
