Due to poverty, many children are unable to go to school. Several others die young because of lack of basic medical attention. Many are being kidnapped, sexually exploited, and abused. Many from the villages are used for child labour in many home. Many as young as 4-5 years are involved in hawking. Many are still being orphaned because of AIDS. Many of them are being denied their rights. Through our Child Sponsorship project we help these children to be able to go to school, receive medical attention, be clothed, have a foster Christian parent, and a sense of being cared for and belonging to a home. We Provide, books, fees, and uniforms to these orphans and children from poor families.
So far, we have been able to help over 100 children and this number is expected to more than double in 2007. Usually, we award the school supplies and the scholarships during an annual program we call Back Packs. Here are pictures of Back Packs 2006 and some of the awardees. Back Packs 2007 has been scheduled to hold on September 1. More on our announcement and news pages.
