Job Opportunities at HINT

HINT currently has 5 job opportunities as follows:

  1. IT Project Manager
  2. Software & Hardware Computer Technician (Knowledge of Linux OS will be a high advantage)
  3. Office Secretary (Advanced skills in Microsoft Office is a plus)
  4. Accountant/Cashier (Any knowledge of Quickbooks Accounting Software will give a high advantage)
  5. Webmaster (Knowledge of CSS, HTML, Wordpress, and related softwares is required).

If you believe you have the necessary skill in any of the positions above, submit your hand-written application to our Head Office at Bonduma, beside COGENI, Bonduma on or before January 15, 2010.

Attach the following to your application:

  • A copy of you most recent CV
  • Photocopies of your hightest two Diplomas or Certificates
  • Proof of work experience, if any.

Only successful candidates will be contacted after the January 15.

NOTE: These positions are not open to Internationals.

If you have not yet made your donation, please join the growing list of donors of our Computers For Sustainability (CFS) Project. A special thank you to all our 18 donors whwo have already donated close to $3,000 already.

I am truly excited to inform you that we have now opened donations for the Computers For Sustainability (CFS) Project. We are looking for 2,753 who will donate USD 25 each towards the CFS project. I want to appeal that you consider becoming of of these people, willing to help build a future for HINT.

We have already put together a website to manage the project and you can read more about it and how to contribute at http://cfs.hintonline.org. We are very grateful for your generosity and look forward to your participation in the project.

There are a number of ways through which you can help:

(1) Make a donation online, by check, or direct bank-to-bank transfer. Details on the project site above.

(2) Invite others to donate by sharing this project with your friends in your various Social Networks (Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, Digg, Twitter, etc) and encouraging/inviting them to donate. You may also simply EMAIL the project link to your friends.

(3) Invite me to your church, meeting, organization, school, company, family or group for a presentation. I am in the USA fundraising for this project from June 14, 2009.

(4) You can organize a fundraiser and bring your friends, family, and neighbours together to share this project with them. We will provide you with the presentation material you need. A BBQ for example is a great option.

We will keep all donors updated on the fundraising progress on a regular basis. As at today, $555 has already been raised through 2 donors!! More on the project website.

Harold Ewert supports our micro-credit program

Harold Ewert, a Canadian citizen has sponsored a business start-up for an enterprising young woman in Buea to the sum of CAD 4,200.

The Recipient, Chomoh Camilla will engage in wholesale of food stuff back in her village.

Harold believes that HINT is a credible organisation capable  of putting his money to good use and so has made the investment through HINT. On our part, we are working with Camilla to make sure that not only her but several other women come out of poverty by providing adequate training, coaching and supervision of her business.

Two UK engineers coming to HINT soon

Two UK engineering students, Brendan Sherry, an Environmental Technology Masters Degree Student at Imperial University in London, concentrating on Water Management and William Douglas, a Masters Student at Cranfield University with significant professional and overseas experience will both be visiting HINT this summer to carry out research and feasibility studies on the project Enabling Clean and Safe Water Supply.

Enabling Clean and Safe Water Supply is a join project between Helps International (HINT) and Engineers Without Border in the UK.

Genesis Tinshu off to beautiful Hawaii, USA,

Genesis Tinshu leaves for the very beautiful and famous Hawaii Island on May 23, 2009 to attend Haggai Institute’s Advanced Leadership Seminar.

Genesis plans to visit around the US after the seminar before returning to Cameroon sometime in July 2009. During his visits, he will be seeking support for the Computers For Sustainability (CFS) Project. CFS is a Social Enterprise designed to bring HINT to full financial sustainability.

Joe & Hev Talbot visit again

Joseph & Heather Talbot who were our very first international volunteers have visited us again.

They arrived Cameroon on April 10, 2009 for a two-week visit.

This time, they are not volunteering but just visiting their many friends that they made while in Cameroon.

We also want to thank them for a donation of 200 pounds from Heather’s Church, Kidlington Baptist Church to support our School PCs Project.

Thank you Joe & Hev, also for your donation of a refurbished pentium 4 Laptop badly needed for our work here. Thank you to  Kidlington Baptist Church for their continues support of our community impact efforts.
